9 responsibilities of Ukrainian Community Managers

Writer's picture: Алла ЖданьАлла Ждань

What specific responsibilities do Ukrainian community managers perform? With this question, we approached Community Managers and those interested in community development (specifically, our research involved community owners and those who create products for community members).

We published the research results in the MetaSpilnota [Ukrainian community of Community Managers] channels, along with a summary that provides the opportunity to obtain a detailed report (more than 80 pages). Below, you will find a detailed table outlining the responsibilities of 58 study participants, as this is the number of people who indicated their level of experience and answered questions about their work scope.

The list of responsibilities was provided for them to choose from. The list was created based on last year's research:

  1. I build community development strategies

  2. I analyze participants' needs

  3. I organize activities that meet participants' needs and contribute to the community's goals

  4. I manage communication within the community, for example, through content, events, and moderating participant discussions

  5. I communicate about the community externally as needed

  6. I unite stakeholders and moderate the "stakeholders-community" relationships

  7. I act as the voice of the community in communications with the "administration," and the voice of the "administration" within the community

  8. I ensure the organizational and financial sustainability of the community

  9. I provide technical support for community activities.
